Checkpoint: The Journey

From moving to the United States at 11 years old to walking across the graduation stage, my journey has not been an ordinary one. I’ve gone from having to learn a new language and culture to now pursuing a double major in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics, where I’m now in my final semester.

IT Support Intern

Orion Systems Integration | June 2024 – August 2024

At Orion, I supported technical operations by cloning drives, configuring networks, and maintaining system security using tools like Malwarebytes and CCleaner. This hands-on experience built my technical confidence and gave me a strong foundation in system troubleshooting and structured problem solving skills I now use in analytics work.

Substitute Teacher

Kelly Education | August 2025-Present

In my role as a substitute teacher, I independently manage classrooms and adapt to new enviroments on a daily basis. I see this as an opportunity to strengthen leadership, organization, and clear communication, all of which translate directly to presenting data insights and working across teams.

Retail Assistant

Primark | May 2021-September 2025​

Working across 15+ departments in a high-traffic retail environment helped me develop adaptability, communication, and leadership skills. I frequently trained new hires and collaborated with management to improve team efficiency, this experience shaped my approach to process improvement and working with diverse teams.

Pollo Tropical | June 2019-May 2021​

As a cashier, I managed high-volume transactions while maintaining accuracy and customer satisfaction. I balanced registers, worked efficiently under pressure, and learned the value of consistency from a young age, these are traits I now apply to data-focused tasks that require detail and discipline.
